This project included dredging/excavation to prepare for sensor array installation, MEC/UXO screening (dredging approximately 1,200 CY) and the installation of an Underwater Electro-Magnetic Measurement System (UEMMS). This was an effort in support of Pacific Fleet requirements to magnetically range all classes of USN surface ships and submarines.

Installation of a new UEMMS array consisting of 22 – 12” diameter 20-foot long FRP sensor tubes; concrete anchor discs and PVC pipe anchors from Array to Shore Transition; linear array of twenty-two sensors: 13 combination electro-magnetic triaxial (EMT) sensors, 8 triaxial magnetometers (MT) and 1 conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) sensor. The EMT and MT sensors were installed in a straight line to specification and spaced on 20-ft centers. In addition, we installed four spare cables (2 EMT and 2 MT) within the array area. The array was centered on and aligned perpendicular to the navigation channel. The sensor cables were routed from the array along the seafloor to the shore landing location, where we installed a new, below-grade transition vault to transition the sensor cables to a dry, secure box located onshore at Polaris Point. Once onshore, the cables were connected to the data acquisition equipment located in the Force Protection Tower at Polaris Point.

This project involved the installation of six (6) 6” “Drill and Leave” conduits from the Alupang Beach area of the island out approximately 4000 linear feet to ultimately receive data/telecommunications cables. Diving depths on the project reached 147 feet. The diving tasks associated with this project included the removal of the drilling head from the drill stem, followed by the installation of a pull-back line that will be used in the future to pull the data cables through the conduit. Divers installed blank flanges on the ocean ends of the conduits after installing the pull-back lines, to prevent sand from infiltrating them.

Replacement of parts to the Passive Waterfront Barrier (PWB) moorings at Naval Base Marianas, Guam. This barrier system protects the inner Apra Harbor.

The diving tasks associated with this project included the removal of the blind flange adapter, the installation of the bell mouth & preparations of the pulling rope, the removal of the bell mouth, the installation of the articulated pipe flange adapter, and the installation of the 6m articulated pipe. Diving depths reached approximately 147 feet. All surveys and observations of pull-in were performed with ROV.
